Luai Ahmed could have been many things. Translator perhaps, after all he speaks Arabic, Swedish and English. Or ardent anti-Semite, after all, he was born in Yemen, where hatred of Israel is almost cultural heritage. He could also have become a “Hot Houthi”, one of the beautiful Tiktok pirates who sink ships on the Red Sea and are celebrated online for it. And he could have been dead. The latter is what gays like Luai Ahmed in his home country of Yemen are primarily intended to do: to die.
