Arto Nyberg’s “successor” survived: A new live current affairs program will take its place

Mightily on Sunday evenings, a new current affairs program called General News Sunday.

It is a program that deals with the most interesting topics of the coming week. In the program, “we will touch on a few current topics with interesting guest coverage”, the channel informs.

The live program is hosted by journalists every other week Anna Lehmusvesi and Ilkka Lahti.

The new program replaces years of running at the same broadcast location Arto Nyberg – discussion program. Yle announced earlier in October that it was quitting Arto Nyberg’s talk show.

The discussion program has been running on Yle for 20 years, since 2004. The last episode of the show will air on December 22.

New General News Sunday program is described as a relaxed and approachable business program.

“For many of us, following the news is drowned in the noise of the weekend. However, often on Sunday night, the coming week is already weighing on you and the desire to stay on the map rears its head again. The purpose of our program is to make the world a little clearer again”, Anna Lehmusvesi says in the announcement.
