The Osmonds lose one of their members. Wayne Osmond, one of the four founding brothers of the American pop group, died this Wednesday at the age of 73.
The second oldest of nine siblings, Wayne launched the success of The Osmonds with three of his brothers Alan, Merrill and Jay, in a sort of small a cappella singing group, before seeing the rest of the family join the band, which became known by performing at fairs and amusement parks.

The Osmonds experienced their golden age in the early 1970s with several hits like “One Bad Apple”, “Yo Yo”, “Down by the Lazy River” and “Love Me For a Reason”. The group would eventually disband in 1980, but would still experience the joys of being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 23 years later.
The reasons for his death are not known at this time. On Facebook, his brother Merrill said Wayne suffered a “massive stroke” and was hospitalized shortly before his death. “His departure from this earth will be a sad moment for some, but for those who await him on the other side, there will be a massive celebration beyond anything we can imagine,” he added. .
His little brother Jay also shared his grief on Instagram. “My heart is deeply saddened by the loss of my brother. What makes me happy is knowing that he has earned his wings and I can only imagine the heights he is reaching at the moment. »
