“A TripAdvisor for nightclubs”: how this student from Aisne intends to “revitalize” nightclubs

A work-study student in marketing techniques at the IUT of Laon (Aisne), Axel Lecourt, 20, has just put online a website to eventually list all the nightclubs in France. Playful, Noxway (contraction of night in Latin and path in English) allows users to filter the nightclub that best meets their expectations.

“Internet users choose a city, the price, the music, the age group, the times, the events,” explains the young man from Soissons. A list with a photo appears, they then click on the place that interests them. »

The idea for this site came to him after a year spent with a friend in Budapest (Hungary), as part of his Erasmus year: “We looked for ways to get help for our evenings,” confides this party-goer. We only found Google SEO. This is where I came up with the idea of a nightclub TripAdvisor. »

Half of the country’s nightclubs already identified

“Creating an application would have cost too much,” continues the student, helped by a web developer. Since the 80s, more than 70% of nightclubs have disappeared and 20% more since Covid. The goal is for customers to discover new places and to revitalize the sector on my scale. »

For the moment, 712 nightclubs (i.e. more than half of French establishments) located in 138 cities are listed. Their managers can complete the information and obtain a certified badge. In the coming weeks, a ticket office will be operational. Ambitious, Axel Lecourt aims to deploy Noxway across the European continent and is planning a possible fundraising to gain speed.
