The Vargas Llosa Chair opens the call for the VI Prize of the Novel Biennial, endowed with almost 100,000 euros

The Vargas Llosa Chair has announced the opening of the call to opt for the VI Prize of the Novel Biennial endowed with 96,203 euros —$100,000— and for which works can be delivered until next May 15.

The award is held for the first time in Spain, in Cáceres, during the Novel Biennial, from October 22 to 25, 2025, and all novels originally published in Spanish between January 1, 2023 and December 31 can participate. of 2024.

On the other hand, everything that is not a fiction novel is excluded from the award: essays, short stories, memoirs, history or criticism, nor can graphic novels, comics or children’s literature participate.

Among the rules, explains the Vargas Llosa Chair, there are several requirements, such as that participants must send a total of seven copies of the work to the offices of Squirrel Media, at 80 Agastia Street, Madrid, and the participating works or Winners of previous editions cannot compete.
