The Rome Jewelry Week is the event aimed at enhancing the culture of jewellery. The aim is to offer the public a cultural experience by highlighting the rich artistic heritage of the Capital. In particular, the initiative aims to create a profound link between history, tradition, savoir -faire, goldsmith’s art, contemporary art and territory, transforming itself into an opportunity to explore not only the immense intangible heritage, but also the vast artistic heritage and historian of Rome. Roman goldsmith art has a long and fascinating history that is linked to that of the Eternal City. Just think of the Noble College of Goldsmiths, it dates back to 1509 and houses an immense artistic heritage.

The project also aims to raise awareness, transmit and spread the secret processing techniques of the goldsmith’s art and the important artistic ferment linked to contemporary jewelery present in the area. The initiative was born in 2019 in the Incinque Open Art Monti gallery from an idea by the architect Monica Cecchini who, thanks to the meeting between the arts, decided to promote contemporary, artistic and authorial jewelery and to enhance the knowledge be a craftsman. “The locations selected for the exhibition of contemporary jewels are archaeological sites and sites of historical and cultural interest, in order to enhance the heritage in its complexity”, explains Monica Cecchini. For previous editions, the archaeological site of the Nymphaeum of Maecenas was chosen, then the Napoleonic Museum and the Trajan’s Markets – Museum of the Imperial Forums were chosen.
