The controversial US shock rocker Marilyn Manson (56) avoids prosecution after allegations of sexual abuse and domestic violence. After a four-year “extensive” investigation into the allegations by police investigators and prosecutors in Los Angeles, no charges will be filedsaid District Attorney Nathan Hochman. The reason given was that some of the allegations were time-barred or that guilt would be difficult to prove.
The police in Los Angeles opened an investigation in 2021 after several women made allegations against the musician, whose real name is Brian Warner. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the investigation centered on alleged abuse and assault between 2009 and 2011, when Manson lived in West Hollywood. The singer immediately rejected the allegations at the time.
Allegations from several women
US actress Evan Rachel Wood and several other women had made allegations against Manson public. In an Instagram post in 2021, Wood (“Westworld”) accused her ex-boyfriend of years of “horrible” abuse. This started when she was a teenager. Manson manipulated and oppressed her. The then 19-year-old Wood’s relationship with the rocker twice her age became known in 2007. After several breaks, the couple got engaged in 2010, but separated shortly afterwards.
British actress Esmé Bianco (“Game Of Thrones”) filed a civil lawsuit against Manson in Los Angeles in 2021. She accused the singer of assault, rape and other sexual abuse. She described incidents from 2009 to 2011. This legal dispute was settled out of court in 2023.
