Cloud Kalhama as Director of Architecture and Design Museum

Helsinki The Director of the Architecture and Design Museum has been selected Cloud in Kalvi. He will start as the Museum Director and Managing Director of Ad-Museo Oy, which maintains the museum operations in August 2025.

Kalhama will move on to the position of Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Emma, ​​who has been conducted by her since 2012.

Kalhama is preparing a doctoral dissertation at the University of Turku, which deals with the current breakthrough in the polyphony of the museum institution.

Helsinki Architecture and design museums merged in early 2024. So far, they operate in their current positions in the Guard City, but by 2030 the new museum is expected to open in the southern harbor of Helsinki.

The design competition for the new building is currently underway and the winner will be selected in September 2025.

“The new museum is now a global order, especially as a Nordic player, as international attention is focused on maintaining a functional, democratic society,” Kalhama says in a museum release.

“The design and architecture that we are known in the world has always spoken, along with aesthetics, in the language of solutions and equality.”
