The SGAE Foundation seeks new talents at the International Jazz Festival in Cuba

The SGAE Foundation in its purpose of enhancing the talent and internationalization of the repertoire of Spanish -speaking musicians, first first believes in the Jazz International Festival Plaza de la Habana (Cuba), which celebrates from January 26 to February 2.

Around the contest, the Foundation will participate in a series of complementary activities and moves the directors of the Jazzaldia de Donostia, of the Jazz Festival of Zaragoza and the Jazzahara Festival Petaca Chico de Zahara de los Atunes and Jazz Cádiz, four of the most relevant of the Spanish scene, To know and browse Cuban musicians who act Havana, with the aim of reaching agreements that allow these artists to show their repertoire in Spain.

In addition, Marina Fernández García-Agulló, director of Festival Jazzahara Petaca Chico and Jazz Cádiz; Jaime Borobia, director of the Zaragoza Jazz Festival, and Miguel Martín, director of the Donostiako-Jazzaldia Festival of San Sebastián, will participate on January 31 in the Panel ‘Jazz programming in Spain. Peculiarities and challenges’, which will be moderated by Darsi Fernández, cultural manager and director of the SGAE delegation in Cuba, as part of the international colloquium Leonardo Acosta in Memoriam.

Likewise, the trumpeter and composer Julián Sánchez, winner of the V Jazz SGAE Award Tete Montoliu 2024, will accompany the Jazz Festival Plaza to the brothers Harold and Ruy Adrián López-Nussa on February 2.
