Dhe Palestinian-Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad became famous when IS IS burned his piano in Damascus. On which he had previously played, in the war, in the bombed streets of the refugee camp Jarmuk, under the jubilation of the children. He fled to Germany ten years ago, at that time Syrian refugees were welcome. He continued to play, with Herbert Grönemeyer and Judith Holofernes, got the Beethoven Prize, brought out CDs. And now – for years unthinkable – he was in Syria for a few days. A call in Warburg, where Aeham Ahmad now lives with his family.
