Gurwitz winning pianists head Special Program of the OFCM

Under the baton of Scott Yoo, this year’s second program of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City (OFCM) will have guests to the winners of the first three places of the Gurwitz 2024 International Piano Contest.

The capital’s Ministry of Culture reported that pianists Yung-Yung Guo, Tatiana Dorokhova and Young Sun Choi will play Wolfgang A. Mozart, Ludwig Van Beethoven and Serguei Rachmaninoff, with the pieces that made them deserves to the first, second and third, in That order.

The guests will participate in a special program tomorrow and Sunday in the Revueltas Silvestre Room, where they will accompany the capital of the capital.

The most recent edition of the Gurwitz Award was held on February 3, 2024 at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, in San Antonio, Texas, United States.

Yungyung Guo, a young pianist born in Hong Kong, studies with the teacher Moye Chen at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music; will delight the public with the piano concert no. 27 of Mozart, master of classicism.

From Volgograda, Russia, Tatiana Dorokhova, student of the Moscow Conservatory and the International Music Center of the Park University, will execute the Piano Concert no. 4 of Beethoven.

Meanwhile, the Korean Doctor of Young Sun Choi, who studied at the Seoul School of Art and at the National University of the same city, and member of the Jacobs School of Music, of the University of Indiana, where a doctorate studies, will interpret a Rhapsody about a Paganini theme, Rachmaninoff.

The concerts will be held tomorrow at 6 pm and Sunday at 12:30 pm, in the revolts Silvestre Room of the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center (Peripheral South 5141). Tickets are available at the box office with custom discounts.
