Precisely, according to the department directed by Ernest Urtasun, An acquisition record has been reached with a total investment of 14,624,510 euros4.7% more in relation to last year.
During the past year, culture has made purchases for 35 public cultural institutions: the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain; 15 state museums managed by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts, including the new National Photography Center.
In addition, for the 8 museums of state ownership and management transferred to autonomous communities; five state files and an autonomous management archive; as well as the National Library of Spain (BNE), the Prado National Museum, the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum, all of them autonomous organizations of the Ministry of Culture; together with National Heritage and the Lázaro Galdiano Museum Foundation.

Meanwhile, the National Museum of Archeology (MAN) has seen its collection of Islamic currencies thanks to the incorporation of pieces of the Tonegawa collection in different auctions, in which 362,734 euros have been invested; as well as a few boards of the 12th century, from the monastery of Santa Clara de Astudillo (Palencia), bought for 80,000 euros; or a 17th -century chest jewel for 32,000 euros.
The National Museum of Decorative Arts is the state museum that has seen its collection more reinforced with more than 162 acquisition files for a total amount of 2,196,994 euros. Among the most outstanding goods are works by the artists Delhy Tejero, acquired for 199,400 euros; o Teresa Lanceta, National Prize for Plastic Arts 2023, for an amount of 302,500 euros.

To expand and reinforce The collection dedicated to Joaquín Sorolla, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of his deathCulture announces that he has acquired three new works for his house-museum located in Madrid: ‘Plasencia’, acquired for 300,000 euros; ‘Portrait of Dr. Francisco Rodríguez Sandoval’, for 275,000 euros; and ‘garden’, for 250,000 euros.
