The Odeon in Schöneberg is part of the film festival games

Almost nostalgically, the red letters, with which the current films of the cinema at Schöneberger Hauptstraße 116 are announced on the stop board above the neon green “Odeon” lettering: Last week the presentation of “Queer” followed after the novel by William S. Burroughs “Baby Girl” with Nicole Kidman in the evening.

“Fortunately, we no longer play the” Rocky Horror Picture Show “,” says an employee. “For the many R’s in the title, we assumed the letters.”

There is no substitute for this, as they are just as historical as the cinema: it was opened in 1950, so it is only a little older than The Berlinale, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. So how fitting that on February 18, the festival will be moving in there again, with three films from his “Berlinale Goes Kiez” series.
