No tones, no vocals, just studio noises: more than 1000 British pop musicians take part in a protest album against the theft of music with which the AI is trained.
She hardly knew the younger generation. Kate Bush, pop star of the late 1970s, was again up to date by rediscovering her song “Running Up That Hill” in the “Stranger Things” series. The 66-year-old then decided to bring out a new album last autumn. Now it’s there, and you can hear: nothing. Or at least hardly anything. On the associated video, the camera drives empty recording studio through a – except for a wing placed in the middle – rattling noises in the background suggest that even in the other rooms is being cleared. The title of the concept album: “Is this what we want?”
