Actor and cabaret artist Ernst Hilbich died

He was popular with appearances such as “on the current volume” with Rudi Carrell and “Zum Blauen Bock” with Heinz Schenk. In the WDR series “Die Anerrheiner” he played the role of the electrician Jupp Adamski.

Hilbich had always emphasized that he hadn’t learned anything: never went to the drama school, never learned to read grades and had never had dance lessons. And yet he was on stage at the age of 17.

He got his first roles in the Rheinische Landestheater in Neuss. In addition, he intended as a props and chauffeur and before that as a auxiliary lighting at the operetta theater in his hometown Siegburg.

Because he didn’t expect much under these conditions, he was always grateful and a little amazed at everything that came. “I was always a crazy luck, I was always passed on.”

His eleven years at the Düsseldorf cabaret theater KOM (M) Ödchen were the best time, he said in retrospect. “I couldn’t earn anything, because Doll was not paid for the cabaret at the time.” That is why he has increasingly took over roles in film and television since the 1960s.
