Berlin puppet theater museum is fighting for the last chance

With a loud finale and the hope of a miracle, the Puppentheater Museum Berlin on Karl-Marx-Straße still wants to avert its closure. After 30 years of cultural work, in which the Neuköllner association not only presented an impressive puppet collection, but also became an important meeting point for art and culture, the facility is now threatened.

At the end of April 2025, the museum could close its doors forever. The urgently needed funding is missing and the association can no longer pay for the rent. Founded on March 17, 1995, the puppet theater museum established itself as an important cultural institution in Berlin.

His collection of more than 500 theater dolls from different eras and countries has compiled the artist Nikolaus Hein, who died in 2018. This makes it a unique place for art and doll lovers.
