The US actor and two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa are dead. The corpses were found on Wednesday, as several US media, citing Santa Fe County’s office, reported in the US state in New Mexico.
The cause of death and closer circumstances are still unknown, but there are initially no evidence of external influence. The couple’s dog is also dead.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff said ABC News and CNN that the couple had been found during a inspection after a neighbor reported who was concerned about the well -being of the two. According to reports, the officials are expected to publish a statement with further details on Thursday.
Hackman played his first major role in 1964 in the “Lilith” strip with Warren Beatty, who hired him three years later for “Bonnie and Clyde”. As Clydes Gangster brother, Hackman received his first Oscar nomination as the best supporting actor.
