Tefaf exhibits loans of works of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Antwerp and Real Bosco di Capodimonte de Naples

The European Foundation of the Fine Arts (TEFAF) has organized two exhibitions, one of loans from the E Real Bosco Di Capodimonte Museum and another of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Antwerp (KMSKA) with the highlight of the highlight of Belgian modernism, which can be seen during the celebration of the Dutch fair from March 15 to 20.

Thus, that of the Italian Museum, which arrives at Maastricht next month, will show a selection of works that exemplify “greatness, drama and technical brilliance” of these artistic periods of artists such as Tiziano Vencellio, Artemisia Gentileschi, Giovanni Paolo Panini and Giambologna.

The Pinacoteca is famous for the masterpieces of the Renaissance and the Italian Baroque, as well as flamenco paintings, European porcelain and an extensive archive of works on paper. Its funds reflect centuries of artistic patronage, gathering works acquired by the Farnesio, Borgia and Bourbon families.

“We are delighted and proud to participate in Tefaf Mastricht. This prestigious fair gathers the main opinion leaders; international world of art, including directors and conservatives, collectors, academics and experts,” said the director of the Museum E Real Bosco Di Capodimonte, Dr. Eike Schmidt, in a statement.

For its part, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Antwerp (Belgium), the main Museum of Flanders, will offer a collection of old and modern teachers on the first floor of the fair.

The exhibition highlights three fundamental figures of Belgian modernism: James Ensor, Fauvista Rik Wouters and futuristic Jules Schmalzigug. The KMSKA has the largest collection in the world of these three artists.

In addition, the exhibition will offer visitors an exclusive vision of the innovative scientific knowledge of the Desor research project, a collaboration between the KMSKA and the University of Antwerp, which encourages the understanding of the revolutionary techniques and the artistic renor legacy.
