Carolina during closes the tour of his third album with an act of consecration in the Movistar Arena in Madrid

Carolina during this Friday at the close of the national tour of her third album, ‘Choose your own adventure’ (2024), before a Movistar Arena enclosure (popularly known as Sports Palace) of Madrid full to the flag and to which they had hung the ‘Sold Out’ poster this morning.

In this way, if its premiere two years ago on the boards on a limited stage – they only opened the track and the low stands – served to crown them as a reference band of the Spanish indie rock, the performance of tonight, before a sports palace with all enabled and sold, it used them to consecrate and project a light on the national scene to which only the years can shape.

In a kind of change of generational witness, the preamble have put it as opening the veteran Triangle of Bizarro love, precisely one of the sources that Carolina has drunk during, together with others such as the planets, and that has put in the atmosphere the respectable with themes such as ‘The ghost of the transition’ and ‘Mirror guardians’, of which there is also a version with Diego Ibáñez’s own version.

Then, after a pause in which they have sounded by the speakers both their artistic and predecessors, such as ‘La Paloma’ and ‘Seventh seal’, and in front of the congregation of an eclectic audience that already transcends labels such as “Malasañero”, Carolina during has made an appearance at 21.12 of the night with the interpretation of ‘fucking life’, the theme of opening of the new album.

Without continuity solution, the apotheosic entrance has been maintained with ‘Aaaaaa#$!’, ‘Missile’ and ‘famous in three streets’, while the audience based on the track mutated in a human mass that only showed its fissures to make pogos -which so much tail have brought lately on social networks.

Ibáñez, leader of the band that gracefully carries the condition of being Madrid and cool, has then addressed his convincing public to give a brief greeting and continue with the ‘Tempo II’ tavering, praise a bar from the novitiate area.

Leaved the irruption with explosive songs from the second and third albums, the band has rescued ‘Ice girl’, a song collected in the EP ‘examines’ (2018) and that – as genuinely suggests the title – reflects the pain of heartbreak and abandonment, and the ‘Bullet Park’, theme that had been reserved in the repertoire of the tour until tonight.

The heartbreak songs were momentarily left separately to give way to the fleeting but fiery ‘I took coffee’, from afar the most spiritual theme of the last album and was chained with ‘God Plan’ and ‘San Juan’.

On the band, the adjective of ‘indie’ has fallen, qualifying before which they have solved to show indifference with logical arguments such as that their albums have been, in fact, created by the hand of large record labels; Despite this, it is true that their letters, regardless of the capital behind, deal with the most common issues of the branch, such as the love and absence of it.

This has been witnessed by the melodies of ‘Greens, lawn’, ‘The Night of the Living Dead’ and ‘Colors’, a heartbreaking song of the second album that, in the third, has found its echo and extension in the theme ‘You probably are right’, which signed one of the most emotional moments of the evening.

However, to dilute the bitter taste of these lyrics, the band has managed to season the performance with the interspersing of other more vitalist songs such as ‘Casa Kira’.

“We have not touched her for a long time,” Ibáñez said to start ‘Moreno of smuggling’, another song reserved for tonight so special for the group and that joined ‘fuck, I do not know’ and ‘Granja School’, in whose chorus the singer has taken advantage of to throw himself over the public, an action that has taken further in ‘Monster’, when he has become directly one more than the festive crowd.

Shortly after, the group has crossed a small crisis due to the technical problems in part of the stage, at which time the members of the band have filed a conversation with the public, which in turn has seen a reef to ask for songs such as ‘necromantic’, a request that has been resolved favorably for euphoria of it.

After that impasse short, the appointment has continued with the homonymous theme of the third album, ‘Choose your own adventure’, next to the accompaniment of a string quartet.

In those, the band has given free rein to a thunderous final traca in which guests like Barry B have taken to the stage, with which they have touched ‘I thought God had touched me, and Amaia, at the ex -partner of the singer and with which he has played duo’ forgive (now yes) ‘.

There has also been space for iconic songs in the band’s universe as ‘in summer’, ‘normal’ – with their corresponding thanks to Rosalía – and ‘Juanita’s songs’.

Even with everything, the best moment of the final beat has taken it ‘hamburgers’, a song of the last album that breaks by force of optimism both with the album and with the group’s own career, because few people would be willing not to commune with the sentence that “my friends add more than my demons.”

“Thanks to those who have been from the beginning in dwarf rooms,” Ibáñez has risted when they had already broken the “dragon mill,” without luck having something to do with the past trajectory – or future – of this band.

After the tour of Spain, in which on the thirteen occasions they have taken the stage they have hung the ‘Sold Out’ poster, the band now sets for Latin America with four dates distributed by Mexico, Colombia and Chile and will return to the Peninsula to parade through festivals such as Sansan, Spring Sound and the BBK Live.
