Ocba enlists encounters with piano and trumpet

With a vibrant essay, in which the artistic director clicks the fingers to mark the bars, emits sounds with the mouth to indicate the entrance of the piano and brand displays into the ground to accentuate the rhythm, the orchestra of the camera of fine arts (OCBA) polish the last details of Encounters with piano and trumpet, Concert that will take place this Thursday at 8:00 p.m., in the main hall of Fine Arts.

In a break of the practice done yesterday, at the Cultural Center of the Forest, Luis Manuel Sánchez, artistic director of the group, was enthusiastic: Each concert for artists is as if it were the first, and the main hall of Fine Arts always imposes. The third presentation of the first season 2025 will open with the premiere in Mexico of Dabke, of Kareem Roustom. He will continue with the Piano minor concert and Dmitri Shostakovich’s trumpet. It will close with the serenade for Piotr I. Chaikovski strings.

Dabke It is an orchestral work inspired by the folk dance of the same name, popular in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan. Roustom, Syrian-Stadid Composer, captures in it the energy and the characteristic rhythm of this dance.

“Unlike other dances interpreted only by men or women, Dabke It is mixed. The composer takes it as a symbol of union in diversity and underlines teamwork and doing community, ”explains Sánchez.

On the sound balance between the piano and the trumpet during the recital, the artistic director trusted the talent of Argentina Durán and Ignacio Cornejo in the trumpet, as well as in the genius of the work.
