Gugi Kokljuschkin is dead

Gugi Kokljuschkin became known as a singer and made a long career in various record companies.

Vasilij Kokljuschkin was born on June 2, 1947 in Helsinki. Already as a child, he was called the nickname Gugi. When he died, he was 77 years old.

Gugi kokljuschkin was a long -time influencer in the music industry. He worked for a long time on record companies, starting with Finnlevy, whose product manager was elected in 1975. He later worked in Scandia Music, Sonet/Polar, Polygram and Universal Music, which he retired in 2010.

Gugi Kokljuschkin started his career as a singer. He is especially known for the Topmost band he founded Harri Saksalan and Tribe “Holle” Holopainen with 1964. Topmost occasionally performed occasionally in later decades.

Kokljushck released his first solo album Big doctrine life when 66 years old and another solo album A man who’s home will take On its 70th birthday in 2017. The third solo album Because the most artillery can appeared at the end of February 2025.

Kokljuschkinin Friend Harri Saksala says he was friends with Kokljuschkin as they started school in 1959.

“Then the band patterns came along. Topmost was set up in 1964 and it went really well. It was the most popular band in the country, was poppers. Then the roads divorced at some point, but they returned again, ”Saksala recalls.

This happened when Provinssirock was held for the tenth time in 1988.

“They were so terribly shuffled there, so the band was put together again. Since then, Topmost has been doing a gig all the time. ”

Singers Kokljuschkin and Saksala had clear their own roles in Topmost, Saksala says.

“I always came, from the very beginning, the blues-type strong interpretations. Gugi had that other department mostly. But we never had any of the songs that was scabbing in that way. ”

Last year Topmost celebrated the 60th anniversary and all the halls were full, says Harri Saksala. The last gig with Kokljuschkin was in December 2024.

Performances for this year have already been agreed, but their realization is still a bit unclear after the death of Kokljuschkin.

“I hope Topmost will continue,” says Harri Saksala. “Let’s keep Gug’s memory, that’s also a way to do it.”
