Franco Battiato ‘to the essence’, the volume that reconstructs the artist and his philosophy of life to be released on March 18th

The curator Giordano Casiraghi has collected the artist’s words in a precious volume that traces his spiritual, artistic and human evolution. Battiato speaks of habits, nutrition, other artists, America, seventies, love, sex, songs, music, sound, research, culture, cinema, money, pain, drugs, education, family, war, image, childhood, readings, inner evolution, meditation, death, reincarnation, solitude, silence, Milan, Sicily, politics, public and relationships. He tells, through his declarations, his being an artist and man.

In the words of Grazia Cristina Battiato, nephew of the singer -songwriter and president of the Franco Battiato Ets Foundation: “I miss everything about him, and the mere fact of having an elaborate who by opening him makes me feel his voice, his thought makes me feel good, and I hope that the same thing happens for the audience that followed and appreciated it”.

The official book of the Battiato Foundation reconstructs its philosophy

By putting together the different fragments, what arises is in fact a posthumous autobiography, full of information, on man and the musician, the result of a research in the archives that began since the seventies, when the artist undertakes a tortuous path that will lead him to achieve popular success.

“To the essence” is the official book of the Franco Battiato Foundation, edited by Giordano Casiraghi, who followed him over the decades to concerts and press conferences, and has collected records, recordings, newspaper articles. All to form an archive that has been used, entirely documented and with the citation of the sources, for the realization of this book.

Battiato – born in Jonia, now placed on March 23, 1945, died in Milo, on May 18, 2021 – was an Italian songwriter, musician, director and painter. Among the most eclectic and original personality on the Italian panorama of the last decades. “I can tell you that I am happy with the life I made. I was very lucky. This is the conclusion”.
