‘Sorda’ and ‘The dog thief’ wins the Gold Biznaga to the best films of the Malaga Festival

The jury of the official section of feature films of the twenty -eighth edition of the Malaga Film Festival has granted the Golden Biznaga for the best Spanish film to the ‘Sorda’ film, by Eva Libertad, and the Golden Biznaga for the best Ibero -American film to ‘The dog thief’, by Vinko Tomicic.

This has been announced this Saturday the president of the Ros Mágubejes jury, Mercedes Morán, accompanied by the director of the contest, Juan Antonio Vigar. The Special Jury Award has been for the movie ‘Los Tortuga’, by Belén Funes, and the public prize has also fallen to ‘Deaf’.

The Silver Biznaga for the best male interpretation has been granted ‘former Aequo’ to Álvaro Cervantes for his character in ‘Sorda’ and Mario Casas by ‘Molt Lluny (far away)’; While the recognition of the best female interpretation has also been shared between Ángela Cervantes for ‘La Fury’ and Miriam Garlo for ‘deaf’.

The one chosen as the best direction has been Belén Funes for ‘Los Tortuga’, a film that has also taken the prize for the best script for Funes herself with Marçal Cebrián. In addition, the jury has granted special mentions to the address for Celia Rico for ‘La Good letter’ and Sara Fantova by ‘Jone, Batzuetan’.

Àlex Monner has obtained the best male cast interpretation for ‘La Fury’, while María Elena Pérez has been recognized as the best female interpretation of cast by ‘dogs’.

Didac Palou and Tomás López have been awarded with the Silver Biznaga for the best assembly for ‘La Fury’; The best photograph has been for Alván Prado by ‘Sugar Island’, and the best music for Filipe Raposo for ‘What is left of you’. In addition, the Jury of Criticism has granted the Silver Biznaga to ‘Molt Lluny (far away)’, directed by Gerard WHO.

In Zonazine, the Silver Biznaga for the best Spanish film has been for ‘ESMORZA AMB MI (breakfast with me)’, by Iván Morales, a film that has also conquered the public of this section and achieved the awards for the best male interpretation for Iván Massagué and better female interpretation for Anna Alarcón.

The Silver Biznaga for the best Ibero -American film in Zonazine has fallen to ‘Olivia and the clouds’, by Tomás Pichardo, while Matías Szulanski has been awarded the best direction for ‘Good evening’.

In documentaries, the main award has been for ‘Losses adjustment’, by Miguel Calderón, while Paolo Tizón has won the best address for ‘Night came’. The documentary ‘My chest is full of Centellas’, from Gal S. Castellanos, has received a special mention of the jury. The public prize in this section has been for ‘Linda doll’, by David Moncasi.

In short films, ‘Solo Kim’, by Javier Prieto de Paula and Diego Herrero, has won both the silver biznaga for the best fiction short film and the public prize. The best direction has been shared between Daniel Sánchez Arévalo for ‘Pipioles’ and José Luis Lázaro for ‘Cholera’, while Miriam Iscla (‘Life or Teatre’) and Nacho Sánchez (‘A head on the wall’) have received the awards for best female and male interpretation respectively.

In Animazine, ‘Buffet Paraíso’, by Santi Amézqueta and Héctor Zafra, has won the silver biznaga for the best animated short film, and ‘Carmela’, by Vicente Mallols, has been chosen by the public.

Finally, in short films Malaga, ‘Discordia’, by Álvaro Amate, has won both the silver biznaga for the best short film and the public prize.
