The memory, stubborn and querendona, a central piece in the book one of many

The brief novel One of many a letter is mainly supported, as a way to reveal the truth of a love relationship, and that It allowed me to play with two versions and moments of the same story: the separation of two loversSaid the writer and journalist Antonio Heras about his book presented this Sunday afternoon at the International Book Fair Aztlán.

In an interview for his narration published by Circle of Poetry, the novelist explained that it was create a point of reference to our generation, when the letters were letters and there was an entire epistolary development.

He added that today The messages are very concise, sometimes with a very direct language, which speaks of a generation that is living the immediacy. Equally deep, if you want, but immediate.

Heras, correspondent for this newspaper, added: In this story, despite the separation over the years, Maria writes that she still wants it, but no longer to make a life project. Really what is looking for is the permanence of a relationship that was brief, of three or four years, but that makes great sense in his life, because it was the touchstone for his personal development.

Opposite perceptions

The novel explores the end of a relationship in which the protagonist thought that Everything was fine, love flourished, we wanted, we lived and madewhile the woman is driven to look for another life, because she began to grow personally, to empower and move to the United States, where she is dedicated to activism in a human rights defense organization.

The story is in charge of a third -person narrator who tells the relationship between the two, as well as a final letter in which she raises what happened while Ernesto stayed in the neighborhood, in Mexicali: he broke his visa and his passport, he jumped the border, was arrested by the border patrol and finally deported.

Antonio Heras explained that Memory is stubborn, very dissuasive and querendona, and suddenly places us in different planes that are sometimes not true.

In the novel a narrator tells the story, But memory is also left through her testimony. The paradox is that Ernesto never reads him for fear of knowing what had happened to his relationship.

The novel closes with a letter: the position of María Espana (thus, without virgulilla, because it is written on a typewriter with an English keyboard): The epistolary part gives strength to the noveladded the author born in Mexico City.

The writer recalled that he published a first poetry plate in 1984, Body of every day, And then he entered journalism fully. You are doing a little more concrete in the use of language, you become faster, more direct. Literature has the advantage of fiction. Journalism gives you a scriptural office. That is what has led me to rethink what I am doing, what am I going to do.

Added: I am a kind of trolebús, which is neither tram nor truck, that is, I feel between literature and journalism. I have 43 years doing journalism, but the literary part is very different, because you take licenses, and in the other part you have to be the most objective, the most attached to reality, what you are seeing.

Antonio Heras said he was happy for the busy presentation of the book, where he was accompanied by the musician Iván Vivanco, a poetry circle, and the reading of actress Frida María. This presentation gives moments to resize scriptural work and even the journalistic.
