Studio Babelsberg names buildings in Wes Anderson

The Babelsberg studio honors the world -famous director Wes Anderson with a building on the studio site in Potsdam. In addition to offices and rooms for costume and props, the house 5 houses the so -called trickaelier and is now called “Wes Anderson Building (and Trickatelier)”, as the Babelsberg studio announced.

The film legend (“Grand Budapest Hotel”, “French Dispatch”) was there when the deduction board was unveiled in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Anderson made his film “The Phoenician Scheme”, which was released in May, to the most part in Studio Babelsberg and had his office in house 5, as it was said. It was the fifth collaboration with the director for the studio.

For Jörg Bachmaier, CEO of Studio Babelsberg, the naming of the building to Wes Anderson is “not only a gesture of thanks for his trust and his creative spirit, but also a testimony of his ongoing influence on cinematic work”.
