Panoramas: the first big Breton festival of the year arrives at the Morlaix tobacco factory

The old tobacco factory in Morlaix (Finistère) will, for the first time since its restoration, open entirely on the occasion of the Panoramas electronic music festival. The 27th edition, which usually took place in the country of Morlaix, now settles in the Quais district, where at least 10,000 festival -goers are expected during the four days of performance, from April 3 to 6.

The place of some 35,000 m2, classified and recently rehabilitated with the support of the heritage lotto (for 8 million global budget), hosts three entities which form the “Sew” (pronounce “Sioux”): the cinema of the Salamandre, the theater of the Entresort (national center for adapted creation), known throughout France to work with actors with mental disabilities, but especially the Wart team. This label, producer of current music, brings together some 80 artists including Zaho de Sagazan, Jeanne Added, Naïve New Beaters, Acid Arab, Kompromat, Rebeka Warrior, Shannon Wright and Miossec. The presence of panoramas and some of these artists behind the walls of the manufacture at the beginning of April 2025 is no coincidence: the festival team is also that of Wart.

For this 27th edition, in addition to an exceptional highlighting of the facades of the “Manu”, the beautiful part will be given to women in electronic music, rap and hip-hop. They will represent around 50 % of the programming, compared to 20 to 30 % on the other festivals of current music. A proportion that illustrates the organizers’ desire not to “specially stop at the usual headliners” and to open their scenes to artists already established in the musical environment, or even emerging.

A Palestinian DJ and contemporary art

“The DJs very well known at the international level unfortunately count on the fingers of both hands and are always very demanded,” explains Eddy Stones, one of the two thinking heads of Wart and Panoramas. “We haven’t imposed ourselves. We, on the other hand, made a pleasure to pass what we wanted, and in particular these women, more and more numerous, who are starting to win on this scene! »»

Among the names to be monitored during this 2025 edition of the festival: “Marion di Napoli, an exceptional live Live from Massive Scratch with Yelle-which is from Saint-Brieuc-, Jeanne Added (Accustomed to the region, and godmother of the Hydrophone concert hall, in Lorient, editor’s note), or Sama ‘Abdulhadi, a Palestinian DJ. Which is rare, and we are happy to have it with us this year, ”List Eddy Stones.

Note, also, “for the first time in the history of Panoramas, the arrival of a performer from contemporary art”, Olivier de Sagazan … who is none other than Zaho’s father. An artist also very followed by the Morlaisians.
