The Vargas Llosa Chair on Monday has announced the formation of its Honor Council, composed of Javier Cercas, Fernando Savater, Soledad Álvarez, Irene Vallejo, Héctor Abas y Marisol Schulz.
The institution emphasizes that the organ is formed by “Intellectuals of an outstanding career within the world of letters and knowledge”, whose members share the values of the institution and “are essential in the fields of culture, art and literature.”
With these appointments, the Vargas Llosa chair extolizes its purpose of Promote the study and dissemination of contemporary literature; enhance interest in reading and writing; Support Ibero -American literary creation, and contribute to the development of innovation for education, research and scientific and cultural dissemination.
