To remember the legacy of the writer Fernando del Paso, who tomorrow would have turned 90, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal), through the National Coordination of Literature (CNL) and the Alfonsina chapel, invites the public to a virtual talk in which the essayist Héctor Iván González will speak the work of the academic, painter and poet, which displays a unique narrative architecture in Mexican literature

From the step he is the author of essential works, such as Palinuro de México (1977), José Trigo (1966) y Empire news (1987). He was born in Mexico City on April 1, 1935 and died on November 14, 2018.
In his youth, he was a cartoonist and painter, although he also stood out as a programs producer, translator and announcer in the BBC in London and in Radio France International, in Paris.
He was a cultural advisor of the Embassy of Mexico, Consul General of Mexico in France and director of the Ibero -American Library Octavio Paz of the University of Guadalajara since 1992.

In Empire news, One of his monumental works, presents a melodrama that intrigued the author since childhood: the story of an Austrian emperor shot in Mexico, and his wife, a Belgian empress who died decades later.
In 2016, upon receiving the Miguel de Cervantes award in Alcalá de Henares, the highest award of literature in the Castilian language, Fernando del Paso related his first approach to the literary classics, thanks to the library of an uncle of his that nobody read. He praised authors who influenced him, such as Benito Pérez Galdós, Camilo José Cela, Jorge Luis Borges, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Tirso de Molina and Lope de Vega.
In the last decade of his active life he was a teacher emeritus of the University of Guadalajara in 2006, and a corresponding member of the Mexican Academy of Language from that year.
On this occasion, the specialist Héctor Iván González will be in charge of deepening the life and work of Del Paso, in addition to his relationship with Alfonso Reyes.
