The choreographer, dancer and director of provisional dance, Carmen Werner will receive on June 9 the Honor Prize of the Godot magazine, which will be held at the Pavón Theater for the fourth edition of these awards.
The organization points out that Werner is one of the people who have done most for dance in Spain, being a teacher of many dancers and dancers who have followed their example. “In 2007 he received the National Dance Award, and in 2020 the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts. In this 2025 they are awarded a more modest prize such as the Godot of Honor Award, but that is also about recognizing his great work and trajectory, “says Godot magazine.
The appointment will be on June 9, at a gala that will be presented and directed by the absurd theater, a theatrical company of recognized prestige formed by Patricia Estramera and Alfonso Mendiguchía. In total, 19 statuettes will be distributed, which have been designed and handmade by the traperana artist.
The awards will be granted in the different categories to any production released in the 2024/2025 season (from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025) in any theatrical space of the city of Madrid (the civic centers are exempt). The Godot Special Prize will be awarded only to the assemblies released in independent and small format rooms.
