176 paintings donated by local painters are sold for the benefit of the Telethon in Quimper

In 2024, the city of Quimper (Finistère) was an ambassador for the Telethon and organized numerous events for the occasion, including the famous pancake marathon for 24 hours over 15 billigs. This year, the Force T Quimper association, which locally supports the Telethon, is launching a sale of 176 paintings created and offered by painters from Quimper and its surroundings. While waiting to find a buyer, the works are exhibited in the annex town hall of Quimper, in Ergué-Armel.

Sold for sums ranging from 5 to 80 euros, the works cover a variety of themes, as well as a variety of techniques used.

The operation, launched on November 7, has already convinced around forty buyers, as proven by the small pink stickers stuck on the canvases concerned. “Since the start of the operation, 20 days ago, we have had quite a few visits,” confirms a town hall employee. “Some come specially to do a good deed, others discover the exhibition and let themselves be tempted on the big day or come back a few days later. »

Other entertainment

This is the third time that this operation has been launched. “We contacted painters, mostly amateurs, and more than fifty responded to our call. They entrusted us with one or more paintings. We count on the generosity of people, also on their favorites in front of a painting. Now not everyone is necessarily a fan of painting, but it’s for a good cause,” smiles Jean-Yves Bajeux, president of Force T.

Most of the painters are amateurs, like Guylaine, who takes lessons at the Abeilles center in Quimper. She offered delicious little watercolors: “This is the first time I have participated in this operation. I think it’s a great approach and a personal way to get involved in the Telethon. »

To support the annual fundraiser, in addition to the sale of paintings, Force T Quimper is organizing a sports evening on Friday December 5 and will set up a Telethon village on Place Saint-Corentin the next day.
