The singer Blas Cantó presented this Friday a solidarity version of his song ‘It will be Christmas’, in collaboration with 20 other artists, an initiative that will allocate the funds raised from the reproductions to support the work of UNICEF around the world, as reported by the NGO.
Specifically, each listen or download of the song through digital platforms will be transformed into real help to support UNICEF’s work in favor of the most vulnerable children, whether in conflict zones, in the face of climate disasters or countries where poverty denies children their right to education, health, housing or a decent life in which they can grow and develop.
In this Christmas carol, Blas Cantó has had the collaboration of the artists Andrés Koi, Rozalén, Gonzalo Hermida, Matt Terry, María Pelae, Axel, Ana Guerra, María Parrado, Carlos Higes, J Kbello, Dangelo, Lydia Fairén, José Otero, Twins Monzo, Begoña Vargas, Sole Gimenez, María Carrasco, Pasión Vega, Aduén Amaya and Nia.
The Director of Communication and Brand of UNICEF Spain, Saviano Abreu, thanked Blas Cantó and the artists involved for this gesture and assured that “initiatives like this not only excite, but are essential to involve society in such urgent work as protecting each boy and girl, wherever they are.”
“The funds will help UNICEF continue to provide vital supplies such as water, vitamins to combat malnutrition and vaccines, as well as enable hygiene and sanitation services and promote access to education for children and adolescents where it is needed most,” Abreu detailed.
For his part, Cantó has indicated that, with this song, he “heartily wishes to convey a message of hope to everyone and especially to millions of boys and girls around the world.” “Music brings us closer to those we love most,” he said.
The NGO has indicated that the artist has previously collaborated with UNICEF Spain in initiatives to support child and youth mental health, as well as the fight against child malnutrition, humanitarian response to emergency situations and conflicts and the promotion of rights in the digital environment and child protection.
