Carmen María López wins the Adonáis Prize for the “emotion that crosses time” in her collection of poems ‘Prayer of the Rain’

At the awards ceremony, two second prizes were also awarded. For her part, Rocío Angulo has won the second second prize for ‘Los geranios descosíos’ in recognition of “her ability to address mourning with an elegiac tone that mixes the popular and the cultured, with telluric resonances and deep references to a feminine lineage.”

This award was born in 1943 “with the aim of giving voice to emerging poets who write in the Spanish language.” In addition, the Adonáis collection has more than 690 titles, with which it offers “an x-ray of the evolution of Spanish poetry during the last seven decades”, according to the publisher.
