Jarkko Antikainen, known as a Eurovision representative, has died

Jarkko and a musician known for the Laura duo Jarkko Antikainen has died at the age of 75. It was reported in November Kameraseura ry.

“The musician, producer and photographer who joined the Camera Society in 2004 had time to influence the society in many ways with his active and positive attitude”, it is written on the website of the Camera Society.

Antikainen served on the board of the Camera Society in 2007–2013.

Antikainen represented Finland as part of the hit duo Laura and Jarkko at the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid with the song Like then before. The duo continued active gigging until 1974. In addition to the five-piece, their most famous songs included Like a little fool, Similar luck and Our song.

The duo married each other in 1975 and have three grown children.

After his career as a musician, Antikainen worked for decades in the clothing industry in the Bombus and Brenda companies in particular of woolen clothes in pairs, which in the 1980s and 1990s were also used by employees of department stores and airlines, even ministers and Swedish royalty.

In the 2000s, Antikainen moved to mentoring entrepreneurs.

Still a wife in the summer of 2019 Laura Antikainen told HS:n in the interview, the married couple is still gigging.
