Almost everyone knows La Madrague, the villa on the waterfront in Saint-Tropez (Var) where Brigitte Bardot died this weekend. On the other hand, 10 minutes’ drive away, La Garrigue, another “paradise” in the eyes of the cult actress, is much less known, much less accessible.
The vast property is hidden on the heights of the seaside resort, in the middle of the greenery. It was in this 10 hectare estate purchased in 1979 that “BB” came, daily, to care for, feed and pamper chickens, dogs, cats, horses, ducks without forgetting Sidonie, his favorite goat, Bonhomme the gray donkey or Poupée la ponne.
