Fito & Fitipaldis triumphs with their ‘howls’ in a packed Movistar Arena on their long-awaited return to Madrid

Fito & Fitipaldis has not disappointed its fans in its long-awaited return to Madrid, in its first concert in a Movistar Arena that hung the ‘no tickets’ sign.

“Thank you very much, you are a fucking blessing,” said Fito Cabrales at the beginning of the performance in reference to the Madrid audience.

The band has offered this concert, the first of the four major events they have scheduled in the Spanish capital, as part of their ‘Aullidos Tour’, with which they present their latest album, ‘El Monte de los Aullidos’.

The group led by Fito Cabrales has arrived in Madrid with the machinery in place after the start of the tour on November 21 at the Santander Sports Palace, a date that marked the end of a break of more than two and a half years away from the stage.

The night’s repertoire had as its central axis the new album, published last October, which debuted directly at number 1 on the Top 100 Albums list in Spain, although the band has also played great classics recognized by all attendees such as ‘Soldadito sailor’, ‘La casa por el tejado’ or ‘Por la boca vive elfish’.

Halfway through the concert, Fito asked the attendees to record a greeting “between brothers” to the audience that will come to the Movistar Arena tomorrow, after issuing the greeting to the fans of the Gijón concert.

After almost two hours of performance, the time has come for ‘Little Sailor Soldier’, a song that a dedicated audience has chanted in unison, turning on the flashlights on their phones.

This Monday’s performance has served to certify the words of Fito, who has been in music for more than 30 years, about this return to the stage, who had described the return as an “indescribable emotion.” The band has presented its time in Madrid as “a celebration of rock and everything that unites us”, transferring the energy of an album that they define as vital for the group’s trajectory to the live stage.

With ‘El monte de los howling’ (Warner Music), the group returns to music after four years which, although it is a considerable time in the current music industry, is the time it has taken Fito to “have something to tell.”

“I understand music as healing, as something spiritual. I say it, do you know why? Well, because nobody says it. Just for that reason, it’s not that I want to claim it, but since I never hear it, I say it. Man, of course I make music because I want to make an album and long live rock, I want to go on tour and play the guitar and buy another amp. Of course, that exists. And pretend that we are AC/DC. But in the background of everything is that there is something spiritual,” Cabrales pointed out in an interview with Europe Press.

The ‘Howling Tour’, announced last April, thus continues its extensive tour of 28 Spanish cities, until May 2026.

The validity of Fito & Fitipaldis has been reflected in the high demand for tickets, by hanging the ‘sold out’ sign on most of the announced dates.
