Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly says she suffered a brain injury as a result of fainting in May 2025.
Lilly fainted at the beach and hit her head on a rock, and she now says that almost all areas of her brain are functioning at reduced capacity.
Lilly is known for the TV series Lost and the Hobbit movies, among others.
Canadian actor Evangeline Lilly says that he received a brain injury as a result of a fainting spell in May and the resulting fall. Lilly shared the results of a recent brain scan in a video she posted on Instagram on Friday, January 2.
“Almost every area of my brain is functioning at reduced capacity,” Lilly said in the video.
In May 2025, he wrote about the accident In the Substack releaseto which he also attached pictures of his bloody face.
He had fainted at the beach and hit his head on a rock when he fell. She said that she has been prone to fainting since she was a little girl, but the medical reason for this has not been determined so far.
The investigation of the reasons continues, as Lilly says in the Instagram video she has now published.
“I have a brain injury caused by an external force and possibly other factors, which we now need to clarify with the doctors. . . . The cognitive impairment has helped me slow down since I smashed my face open.”
Evangeline Lilly (b. 1979) made his breakthrough Lostin the television series (2004–2010). He has also acted, for example Kathryn Bigelow’n in the movie The Hurt Locker (2008), by Peter Jackson in the controls The Hobbit-films and superhero films based on the comics of the Marvel company.
