The Prosecutor’s Office of the National Court grants Julio Iglesias’ complainants the status of protected witnesses

The Prosecutor’s Office of the National Court has granted the two women who have denounced the artist Julio Iglesias for alleged sexual abuse the status of protected witnesses.

This was announced by the executive director of Women’s Link Legal Jovana Ríos Cisnero, who has also confirmed that the complainants continue to be employees of the singer.

Among the crimes of which Iglesias is accused are trafficking in human beings for the purpose of servitude, various sexual assaults, injuries, and violations of workers’ rights.

It is necessary to take into account that the accused holds a power that is diametrically different from that of the complainants, derived from his economic capacity and also from his influence, which is the basis for our request for protection measures.“added Ríos Cisnero.
