Humor: Panayotis Pascot will play his show at the Opéra Garnier in June

Last month, he played at the Odéon (Paris Fifth). Next week, he will perform at the Olympia (IXth). Panayotis Pascot has been stringing together prestigious sold-out dates recently. And it’s not over for the 27-year-old comedian who announced this Wednesday evening on his social networks new performances in a venue unaccustomed to hosting stand-up: the Opéra Garnier (9th). In this mecca of dance and music with nearly 2,000 seats, the young actor will present on Friday June 5, at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., “Entre les deux”, his second very successful solo on stage. Tickets are on sale now. He will be only the second comedian to be featured at the venue after Gad Elmaleh in 2014.

This is not the first time that the multi-talented artist has undertaken the project of performing under the auspices of the Palais Garnier. In January 2023, Panayotis Pascot was already scheduled to play his first show there, “Almost”. “It’s the most beautiful place in the world, the room that upsets me the most. There is period gilding, the Chagall ceiling, the marble of the Grand Staircase, the velvet of the armchairs…” he explained to us at the time. But a health problem had prevented him from securing these dates.

Since then, a lot has happened in the life of Panayotis Pascot. The following summer, the comedian released a shocking book, “The next time you bite the dust”, in which he notably discussed the serious depression he had to face. A phenomenally successful exposure, sold more than 200,000 copies, which resonated with many young readers. And which was extended on stage, in a production by his brother, Paul Pascot, with Vassili Schneider and Yann Pradal.

Increasingly prominent in the cinema, he also signed his first series for Canal + then launched, on the same channel, with his colleague and friend Fary, the game “Les Loups Garous” with huge audiences to boot, and a second season currently being broadcast.

High-level stand-up

At the end of 2024, Panayotis Pascot launched his second one-man show, “Entre les deux”. A masterful show about the disenchantment of entering adulthood and that particular moment when you are no longer a child and when you don’t yet have one of your own. He talks at length about his depression, in a particularly luminous way. Less melancholy than the first, the show is overflowing with humor and mood. Of life.

In this high-level stand-up, Panayotis Pascot explores an adult world accompanied by its hard knocks, its banal disappointments such as… the imminence of baldness, and analyzes in depth his desire to become a father, he who is already struggling to take care of his cat. And funnyly depicts his differences on “the potential education of a child who does not exist” with his companion. Tasty and terribly intelligent.

Playing “Between the Two” at the Opera will inevitably have a special flavor for the young man who last year also launched a magazine bearing the same name as his show. “Doing stand-up at the opera is great for the discipline. I was lucky one day to see a parade of dancers passing one by one on the Garnier stage. I was at the back of the room and I said to myself: If the guy talked to me about his life, it would work! We had to try,” he told us at the end of 2022. A little over three years later, it will be done.
