Hislibris announces the candidates for the XVI Historical Literature Awards

The platform’s community of readers and history lovers Hislibris.com has announced the list of candidates who are running for the XVI Hislibris Historical Literature Awards one of the most recognized awards in the field of historical literature in Spanish. The finalists for the awards will be announced on January 26 and finally, the winners will be announced on Friday June 5 in Hislibris meetings.

These awards, which return for their sixteenth edition after more than twenty years of Hislibris activity, propose a wide and diverse selection of works published in 2025 and by prominent authors of the historical genre. The objective is to highlight “the quality, variety and narrative richness” of recent historical production.

In its new edition The Hislibris Awards will reward the best of historical literature published in 2025 in six categories: best historical novel written in Spanish, best historical novel translated into Spanish, best work of historical non-fiction, best Spanish author, best new author and best book cover

Voting is open to registered Hislibris users until Thursday, January 22, 2026. Once this period has concluded, the finalists for each category will be announced on January 26. The process combines community participation with the recognition of works and authors appreciated by both critics and readers.

Among the names proposed in various categories, established authors stand out, as well as new voices in the historical novel.

The Hislibris Awards are characterized by their strong participation component of the community of readers and history fans. User votes will be decisive in defining the finalist works in each category, thus consolidating a collaborative process that puts both the public and the authors at the center.
