The Congolese rapper will perform for the first time in his career in the 65,000-seat Marseille sports venue on June 19, 2027. Pre-sales began Thursday morning.
At the start of the week, Gims affirmed with a great surge of confidence that he could perform for ten consecutive evenings at the Stade de France. “ If I get really mad, but really angry, I do it, so don’t get mad at me.”launched the Congolese rapper in a video published on Kuntime’s YouTube channel. On Wednesday, it was not concerts in the 80,000-seat Ile-de-France venue that he announced, but a show in the south of France, at the Orange Vélodrome, the scene of Olympique de Marseille’s greatest victories.
The interpreter of As worn as ever alerted his many fans on social networks, by arranging to meet them on June 19, 2027 in the Marseille stadium. The 39-year-old artist will make a detour there as part of his Carpe Diem Tourthe tour which will succeed his Summer Tourscheduled from April 18 to July 25 in France. Pre-sales started Thursday morning at ten o’clock. On the Vélodrome site, categories 1, 2 and 3 are already full. There are still places on lawn, gold lawn and gold square. Prices range from 79 to 125 euros.
A first at the Vélodrome
The arrival of Gims in Marseille is anything but a surprise. Last December, the Congolese rapper announced at the end of the last of his five sold-out shows at Paris La Défense Arena that he would be “the first Parisian to do the Vélodrome in Marseille”. A few days before, he asked his fans during a nightclub showcase if he could “see you at the Vélodrome in 2027”.
This show marks a new stage in the career of today’s biggest record seller. Gims has never performed in this venue with more than 65,000 seats. He has already traveled to Marseille, on December 14 and 15, 2025, for two concerts at the Dôme in front of more than 8,500 people each evening. On June 19, he will follow in the footsteps of Jul, Johnny Hallyday and David Guetta, who all achieved the feat of filling the stadium.
