Benidorm Fest faces its fifth edition without a ticket to Eurovision but with more prizes

The Benidorm Fest faces its fifth edition, which will take place next February 10, 12 and 14, and although it will not serve to elect the representative of Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest after the withdrawal of RTVE due to the participation of Israel, it will award more prizes for the contestants.

Thus, this Saturday, February 7, its parallel programming will begin with a welcome at the Benidorm Cultural Center. In fact, the 18 artists who will compete are already in the city to begin their first rehearsals.

This fifth year there will be, along with the cash prize of 150,000 euros gross -100,000 euros for the performers and 50,000 euros for the authors of the song-, several more prizes. In fact, RTVE has reached an agreement with TelevisaUnivision for one of the artists to travel to Miami (United States) to promote on the network and record a single with a producer there, as announced a few months ago by RTVE’s Director of Communication and Participation, María Eizaguirre. The third prize will be a ticket to travel to Stockholm (Sweden), to visit Spotify and record another single in its studios.

In addition, the new edition changes the trophy. This 2026 contest recovers and reinterprets the mythical Little Golden Mermaid that was awarded to the winner of the Benidorm International Song Festival.

The songs of the next edition of Benidorm Fest are: ‘Rakata’ (Dora & Marlon Collins), ‘Velita’ (Greg Taro), ‘What are you going to do?’ (Izan Llunas), ‘Los Ojos Don’t Lie’ (Kenneth), ‘El Amor Te Miedo’ (Kitai), ‘Bomba de amor’ (Luna Ki), ‘The Ladies and the Tramp’ (María León and Julia Medina), ‘Mi Mitad’ (Mikel Herzog Jr.) and ‘T AMARÉ’ (Tony Grox & Lucycalys).

PERFORMANCES BY ABRAHAM MATEO, FANGORIA, CHANEL OR NEBULOSSA

Abraham Mateo, Fangoria, Paloma Sanbasilio and Luz Casal will perform in the semifinal of the contest, while Chanel, Blanca Paloma and Nebulossa, winners of the Benidorm Fest 2022, 2023 and 2024, have already confirmed that they will perform in the grand final on Saturday, February 14.

Benidorm Fest 2026 can be followed live on all RTVE channels. This year the stage of the Alicante competition will host 18 performances.

The rock band Kitai will open the semi-finals of the fifth edition of the Benidorm Fest, which will close Miranda! & dancemama. Both galas will take place on February 10 and 12 at the Palau d’Esports l’Illa in Benidorm and in each one six artists will qualify for the grand final to be held on Saturday, February 14. The order of performance of the final will be known from Benidorm on Friday, January 13.

In the first semi-final the artists will perform in this order: Kitai with ‘Love gives you fear’; María León ft. Julia Medina with ‘Ladies and the Tramp’; Luna Ki with ‘Love Bomb’; Greg Taro with ‘Velita’; Izan Llunas with ‘What are you going to do?’; Dora & Marlon Collins with ‘Rakata’; Tony Grox & Lucycalys with ‘T amaré’; Mikel Herzog Jr. with ‘Mi Mitad’ and Kenneth with ‘Los Ojos No Miente’.

The second semi-final will follow the following order: Asha with ‘Tourist’; KU Minerva with ‘I will not cry again’; Tightrope walker with ‘Sobran gilipo**as’; Dani J with ‘Dancing’; The Quinquis with ‘Tú No Me Buscas’; Atyat with ‘Dopamine’; Rosalinda Galán with ‘Mataora’; May with ‘Tocame’ and Miranda! & bailamamá with ‘Despierto Amtamos’.
