It’s for the name appropriate that The Fall-Off is a rapper J. Colen including possibly his last record. It’s tired, unpolished and uninspiring.
At his best, J. Cole was one of the torchbearers of the new generation of lyrical rap. As the album title suggests, Nasia the channeling hungrily rapping giant has now truly fallen. Even though the album is a kind of fan service, based on online feedback, they too have taken a rather moderate approach to the album.
