Songwriter Billy Steinberg has died

American songwriter Billy Steinberg is dead, they say, among other things BBC and news agency AFP. Steinberg, who died on Monday in Los Angeles, was suffering from cancer. He was 75 years old.

Steinberg was known as the author of numerous favorite songs. One of his most famous creations is Madonna’s paragraph Like a Virgin (1984). He also wrote, for example Cyndi Lauper’s a song True Colors (1986) and Whitney Houston So Emotionalin (1987). Steinberg is also a hit with The Bangles Eternal Flame (1989) behind.

Steinberg won a Grammy Award in the music industry in 1997 for his work Celine Dionin Falling Into You on the album.

“Billy Steinberg’s life was a testament to the enduring power of a well-written song and the idea that honesty conveyed through song can outlast us all,” Steinberg’s family said in a statement.
