Versailles boss Leribault is supposed to fix the crisis in the museum

Leribault is currently head of the famous Palace of Versailles near Paris, which is visited by millions. According to Le Monde, the post is considered one of the most important cultural jobs in France.

Leribault previously directed the Musée d’Orsay and the Petit Palais in Paris. Years ago he worked in the graphics department of the Louvre.

Around four months after the devastating theft of jewels worth millions from the Louvre and a series of other problems, museum director Des Cars resigned on Tuesday. The Élysée wrote in a statement about an “act of responsibility”. This comes at a time when the most visited museum in the world needs to calm down and needs new impetus to tackle the major challenges with regard to security and modernization.
