“Jumpers”: hilarious and militant, the new Pixar is a very good vintage!

The release of something new from Pixar studios, to which we owe animated marvels such as the sagas “Toy Story”, “Cars”, “Vice-versa”, “The Incredibles”, or even “Wall-E”, “Up there”, “Finding Nemo” or “Coco”, is always eagerly awaited. And since this Wednesday, March 4, the animation studio has offered us a very good vintage with “Jumpers”, which even marks a turning point in its history because the film proves to be very militant for the protection of the environment.

The film follows the journey of Mabel, a complete and excited teenager, with overflowing enthusiasm and rebellion. Passionate about animals and nature, she often takes refuge in the clearing where her beloved grandmother lives. When the latter dies and this natural haven of peace is threatened by the real estate projects of the mayor of the neighboring town, Mabel will do everything to fight to save the fauna and flora of the surrounding area.

However, she discovers that a science teacher at her high school has developed a system allowing her to transfer her mind into the body of a beaver and to be able to communicate with all the animals in the clearing. It doesn’t take much for Mabel, now a young beaver, to round up all the critters in the area, in order to organize a revolt which will prove epic and full of twists and turns, but also risky for the teenager who might not find her human body…

Mallory Wanecque excels in the French version

As tender as it is energetic, hilarious as it is touching, nervous as it is openly partisan for the animal cause, “Jumpers” is a real eye-catcher and allows you to have a great time with this wild beaver girl. The French version also offers the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful dubbing – her very first – performed by the young actress Mallory Wanecque (“Les Pires”, “L’Amour Ouf”…), to whom Disney France had the good idea to ask to lend her voice and energy to Mabel.

This release in the middle of the winter holidays should delight all those who like to see films with family, with the prospect, as is often the case for good Pixar films, of quickly achieving a hit at the box office, as was the case in 2024 for “Vice-versa 2” which had exceeded 8.5 million admissions…
