Bologna remembers Lucio Dalla 14 years after his death

Today Lucio Dalla would have accomplished 83 years old. And 14 have passed since the famous and unforgotten singer-songwriter from Bologna died suddenly in Montreux, Switzerland, at the age of 68.

Considered by all as one of the most significant voices in Italian music, his hometown dedicates an entire essay to Dalla day of giveaways and cultural initiatives in the name of his art and his musical ‘freedom’.

In fact, the exhibition continues in Bolognaand the singing begins again‘, promoted by the Lucio Dalla Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality and dedicated to 40 years since the release of ‘Caruso’which combines music, television, performances and moments of debate around the artistic legacy of the author of ‘Piazza Grande’.

This evening at Arena del Sole theater the evening-event ‘Liberi’ is scheduled, the fourth edition of ‘Ciao – Rassegna Lucio Dalla’, with performances by artists and performers called to evoke the spirit and poetics of the singer-songwriter, in the name of the song that gives the event its title.

Other initiatives in the city include the inauguration of ‘PikeTeak‘, a new library in the Katia Bertasi Neighborhood House dedicated to young people and creative reading, and thematic workshops inspired by values ​​dear to Dalla. In recent years, the Emilian capital has also celebrated Dalla’s memory with large public works, dal mural ‘Happiness’ in the Navile district, created by the Foundation and the artist Kote’ as a tribute to the figure of the singer-songwriter, to the exhibition itineraries and cultural projects that tell of his indissoluble bond with the city that saw him born and grow artistically.

Even today, many people, walking along Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, stop in Via D’Azeglio where Dalla lived to say goodbye to the unforgettable artist whose formidable songs are still the soundtrack of many generations.
