The most unknown star in France: Guillaume Marbeck plays Jean-Luc Godard

Dhe café near the Arc de Triomphe that Guillaume Marbeck suggested is deserted this early in the morning. He shows up on time to the minute. The waitresses don’t give him a second glance, even though there are posters all over Paris with him. He can be seen on the poster for Richard Linklater’s new film, flanked by Jean Seberg and Jean-Paul Belmondo, or two actors who clearly play these two. The film is called “Nouvelle Vague” and is about the filming of the famous Godard film “Out of Breath.” Guillaume Marbeck plays Jean-Luc Godard. It is his first ever role. Immediately the main role. It’s a strange and exciting moment in the life of the 31-year-old, who these days doesn’t know whether he has a big acting career ahead of him or is just a nice guy from Paris who had unexpected luck once in his life.
