Britney Spears was arrested this week in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of drunk driving. According to reports, Spears was pulled over by traffic police, taken into custody and released the next morning. Now it turns out that the drama did not end there – in a search of her car, the police found Adderall pills purchased in Mexico. Their possession can lead to a prison sentence in practice.
And while the gossip columns were interested in the arrest photos of the star, which over time became controversial, the law authorities in the district made it clear that they did not intend to release the official photos from the arrest.
According to the department’s procedures, arrest photos are released to the public only in cases of violent offenses or when the detainee poses an immediate danger to the public. Since the suspicions against the singer do not meet these criteria, the photos will remain in the police archive.
Those close to Spears said that she understands the seriousness of the situation and expresses a willingness to enter a treatment program, and possibly return to rehab soon. As I recall, the court hearing is scheduled for May 4 – until then we will continue to follow.
