Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall to exhibit David Hockney’s opera sets in 2027

During 2027, the London institution will be transformed into a giant immersive opera house on the occasion of the 90th celebrations.^e David Hockney’s birthday. It plans to bring together the eleven sets created by the English artist between 1975 and 1992 for productions of works by Mozart, Wagner and Stravinsky. The master specialist in landscape and portraiture created a majority of these decorations when he was still living in London, shortly before his departure for Los Angeles. A rich program

The same year, the Tate Modern will mount a retrospective devoted to the visual artist Sonia Boyce, winner of a Golden Lion at the 59^e international art exhibition at the Venice Biennale, as well as an exhibition on Edvard Munch, a Norwegian painter considered to this day to be the pioneer of expressionism in modern painting. In February 2027, the London museum will also host its very first exhibition dedicated to Claude Monet, reveals The Guardian .
