The nominations for the 37th Nuit des Molières revealed

Alex Vizorek, master of ceremonies for the third time (in 2019 and 2022) did not venture to make predictions for the 37^e Nuit des Molières which will take place on May 4 and will be broadcast on France 2 at 9 p.m. Of the 245 eligible pieces, 46 were nominated to receive the precious trophy, the equivalent of the Tony Awards in the United States. “The live show is more alive than ever. We cannot achieve success if the quality is not there.”underlined Jean-Marc Dumontet, president of the Molières association for thirteen years. A high-flying spectacle emerges from the nominations which were revealed this Thursday morning. Little Modern Girls (Provisional title) by Joël Pommerat created in December 2025 at the Théâtre Nanterre Amandiers has five nominations including those of Molière for best show and director of public theater.

On the private theater side, Amadeus by Peter Shaffer (Au Marigny) follows on his heels with four nominations including that of best actor for Jérôme Kircher. The story of the lives of Mozart and Salieri comes in a tie with Art by Yasmina Reza (François Morel is in the running for the Molière for best director). Then with The trial of a lifetime by Barbara Lamballais and Karina Testa (at Splendid) and This is loveby Jean Robert Charrier edited by Julie-Anne Roth at Bouffes Parisiens with Josiane Balasko and her daughter Marilou Berry. The former member of the Splendid troupe will have to reckon with Magali Genoud (The last cedar of Lebanon), Charlotte Matzneff (The woman who didn’t love Rabbi Jacob) and Clotilde Daniault (The trial of a lifetime) to win the Molière for best actress.

In the public theater are on the same starting line: Ludivine Sagnier Pour Bovary Madame by Christophe Honoré, Elsa Lepoivre for Hecuba, not Hecuba by Tiago Rodrigues, Marina Hands pour A seagull by Elsa Granat and Romane Bohringer who stands out in Married life by Christophe Perton. Among the actors, they are Christophe Montien (Hamlet by Shakespeare), Louis Arène (Macbethafter Shakespeare), Éric Elmosnino (The Misanthrope by Molière) and Laurent Lafitte (The Crazy Cage by Jean Poiret) which will have to be decided.

Finally in the private sector, Jérôme Kircher as Salieri, the ex-Deschiens and the two friends ofArtFrançois Morel and Olivier Saladin, and Jean-Paul Rouve in the costume of Bourgeois gentleman are neck and neck.
